Operators must undergo specialized training and strictly adhere to operating procedures.

During handling, cylinders and their accessories must be loaded and unloaded gently to prevent damage. Emergency equipment for leak response must be provided.
Self-contained breathing apparatus must be available.

Packaged gas cylinders are marked with a service life limit; any cylinder that has reached its expiration date must be submitted to the relevant authorities for a safety inspection before it may be put back into service.

During transportation, storage, and use, packaged gas products must be segregated and stacked according to their classification. It is strictly prohibited to stack flammable gases together with oxidizing gases. Cylinders must not be placed near open flames or heat sources. Specific precautions must be observed: keep away from fire; avoid contact with oil or grease; avoid exposure to direct sunlight; and avoid dropping or subjecting the cylinders to impact. Striking an arc or performing arc welding directly on the cylinder body is strictly prohibited, as is rough handling during loading and unloading.
