Once filled with helium, these gas cylinders can be used to inflate balloons and toys for decorations at events such as weddings and banquets. Helium is a completely inert gas; it does not react with any other substances. Compared to hydrogen-which is flammable and explosive-helium offers superior safety and ease of handling, making it suitable for use by non-professionals, families, and individuals. These are portable helium cylinders.
Helium is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless inert gas that exists in a gaseous state at room temperature. It possesses the lowest critical temperature of any element, making it the most difficult gas to liquefy; it is extremely unreactive, neither combustible itself nor a supporter of combustion. When subjected to a low-pressure electrical discharge, it emits a deep yellow glow. Helium exhibits unique physical properties; specifically, at absolute zero and under its own vapor pressure, helium does not solidify. Chemically, helium is highly stable and generally does not form compounds; however, when excited within a low-pressure discharge tube, it can form plasma and molecular species such as He⁺² and HeH. Under specific conditions, it may also form compounds with certain metals.
